Residence hall mail & packages

University Residences explains how to address mail and packages, wait for the hall’s pickup notification, present a Purdue ID (PUID), handle same-day deliveries, and find outbound shipping services.

Check before you act

Package handling, hold times, accepted carriers, and address formats can change. Use the official page for your assigned residence.

Step-by-step guidance

  • New student essentialsA compact orientation to the portals, campus map, support offices, and everyday services you are most likely to need first.

Use this when

  • You need the proper residence-hall address format or package-pickup procedure.
  • You need to understand same-day food or grocery delivery versus front-desk package delivery.
  • You need Purdue’s current package-hold or outbound-shipping guidance.

This is not for

  • Refrigerated medicine delivery without arranging an appropriate recipient; residence halls state that refrigerated storage is unavailable.
  • Leaving same-day food or grocery delivery at the front desk; the resident must receive those deliveries in person.

Prepare before opening

  • Use the residence-hall address list for your exact building and room, box, or apartment number.
  • Wait for the Purdue residence-hall pickup email rather than relying only on a carrier’s delivery notice.
  • Bring your PUID for pickup. The current page says packages are held for two weeks after the pickup email before return-to-sender handling.
  • For outbound shipping, the current page directs residents to the UPS Store in Purdue Memorial Union.
